\n
\nI just started teaching Physics First last week. I am currently having the students complete investigations 1A and 1B. It seems that they will need two class periods.....Does that sound about right? Also, I wanted to get an idea about how far behind I am. What chepters and topics are you currently completing?","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"28035535","body":"Hi and thanks for opening this discussion. You asked a question I was considering to ask :)I teach Physics at HLD. Investigations 1A and 1B will definitely take 2 class periods. The students need a lot of guidance in the beginning. One thing I found to be very useful with freshman students is to talk about the equipment before they start using them. You may also show them the video clips on the CPO website. This way they will know what to do with the equipment when they first have their hands on. I started teaching my freshman students 2 weeks ago and I will be completing 1B this week. The first week I was just teaching them how to convert units(length and time). I will be discussing speed tomorrow. I know I could be behind compared to the rest of you... Any ideas or suggestions? Where are you in the curriculum?","dateCreated":"1286327904","smartDate":"Oct 5, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"GarineSantourian","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/GarineSantourian","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
